These findings provide scientific evidence for the traditional use of this plant in ethnomedicine.

Iridoids Isolation from a Phytochemical Study of the Medicinal Plant Teucrium parviflorum Collected in Iraqi Kurdistan

Summary: This study analyzed the chemical composition and activity of the extracts from Teucrium parviflorum, a commonly used herbal plant in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The study found that the extracts contain phenolics, flavonoids, terpenoids, and sugars, and exhibit weak antimicrobial and moderate anti-proliferative effects on cancer cells. The extracts also showed significant free radical scavenging activity. Furthermore, two bioactive iridoid glucosides were identified in the extracts. These findings provide scientific support for the traditional use of T. parviflorum in herbal remedies in Iraqi Kurdistan.

Teucrium polium-wound healing potential, toxicity and polyphenolic profile

This review summarizes the new findings in the green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using different plant extracts and discusses the potential influence of phytochemicals, extraction conditions, and reaction parameters on the properties and antimicrobial activities of the produced AgNPs. Additionally, the mechanism of interaction between AgNPs and microbial cell walls leading to cell death, as well as the enhanced antimicrobial activities achieved through synergistic interaction with commercial antibiotics, are comprehensively detailed.
