Investigation on urban greenspace in relation to sociodemographic factors and health inequity based on different greenspace metrics in 3 US urban communities

Seulkee Heo et al.

Summary: The study explored the disparities in accessing greenspace by sociodemographic status, and found that different greenspace metrics were associated with income, education, linguistic isolation, race/ethnicity, and age. The findings highlight the need to consider different greenspace indicators in decision-making processes within local contexts.

A Full-Sample Clustering Model Considering Whole Process Optimization of Data

Yong Shuai

Summary: With the increasing data volume and dimensions, it is challenging to improve the accuracy and interpretability of clustering algorithm alone. To address this issue, we propose an improved feature selection and combined clustering model that considers overall process optimization. In this model, we preprocess the data, reduce feature dimensions through text weight + principal component analysis (PCA), and perform clustering analysis. We use an improved Self organizing maps (SOM) neural network and K-means clustering combination model, establish clustering algorithm evaluation indicators, and apply collaborative filtering to clusters with missing data. The proposed model demonstrates high clustering accuracy and interpretability through case analysis.

Phenotype clustering in health care: A narrative review for clinicians

Tyler J. Loftus et al.

Summary: Human pathophysiology is complex and clustering algorithms can offer valuable insights by identifying groups of similar patients or diseases. However, clinicians often lack formal training in clustering and the literature on clustering is limited. Optimal clustering practices require understanding data processing, feature selection, and strengths and weaknesses of different methods. Applying clustering methods properly can reveal obscured associations and benefit clinical care and research.

Stephanie C. Hicks et al.

Summary: Single-cell RNA-Sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a widely used technology for measuring gene expression at the single-cell level, with analyses often detecting distinct cell subpopulations through clustering algorithms. The development of the mbkmeans package offers a solution for handling large datasets without requiring full data loading into memory. This package provides efficient computation and performance comparisons with other clustering methods.

Understanding the Dynamics of Green and Blue Spaces for Health and Wellbeing Outcomes in Ireland: A Systemic Stakeholder Perspective

Gesche Kindermann et al.

Summary: This paper explores the structural and behavioral dynamics of green and blue spaces, people, and health outcomes using a multidisciplinary, multistakeholder systems approach. It emphasizes the importance of multiple uses of green and blue spaces for social cohesion, mental and physical benefits, and argues that delivering universal services at a scale proportional to the level of need is vital to ensure equal access to services and health benefits.
