Well-matched core-shell NiO@LaMnO3/MWCNTs p-p homotype heterojunction for ascorbic acid detection

Zhiyang Zhong et al.

Summary: A novel core-shell p-p homotype heterojunction of NiO@LaMnO3 and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (NiO@LaMnO3/MWCNTs) was synthesized via electrostatic self-assembly. The composition and morphology were confirmed using XRD, SEM, and TEM. The modified electrode showed enhanced electrochemical response for ascorbic acid (AA) detection, with a linear current response in the range of 2.60-36.44 μmol/L and a detection limit of 2.41 μmol/L. The NiO@LaMnO3/MWCNTs/GCE sensor exhibited excellent selectivity, stability, repeatability, and could be used for AA analysis in real daily drinks. The high electrocatalytic activity was attributed to the large electroactive surface area, well-matched core-shell structure, and synergistic effect of the p-p homotype heterojunction.

3D RGO/MWCNTs-loaded bimetallic-organic gel derived ZrFeOx as an electrochemical sensor for simultaneous detection of dopamine and paracetamol

Aijuan Xie et al.

Summary: In this study, bimetallic-organic gel (ZrFe-MOGs) was prepared rapidly and without toxic solvents. The resulting ZrFeOx nanoparticles were combined with 3D RGO/MWCNTs to form a hybrid material. This hybrid material showed improved electrocatalytic activity for the oxidation of dopamine and paracetamol, and was able to detect them simultaneously. The optimized sensor exhibited good reproducibility, stability, and selectivity, and could be used for analysis of real drug and serum samples with high recovery rates. The electroactive area and oxidation mechanism were also discussed.

A facile approach to synthesis methylene blue/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite and simultaneous determination of dopamine and uric acid

Haoran Wang et al.

Summary: A novel electrochemical sensing platform based on the combination of methylene blue and graphene oxide has been developed for simultaneous detection of dopamine and uric acid. The characterization results showed that methylene blue was successfully introduced into the graphene oxide interlayer. The electrochemical behavior tests demonstrated improved electron transfer of methylene blue/graphene oxide nanocomposites, and dopamine and uric acid exhibited a typical adsorption control process on the modified electrode. The proposed sensor exhibited lower detection limits, high stability, reproducibility, and good anti-interference.
