Exploring a promising technology for the extraction of gallium from coal fly ash

Huang Jing et al.

Summary: This study systematically investigated and compared two different processes for gallium extraction, finding that microwave-assisted digestion is a time-saving method but requires the use of hydrochloric acid. Compared to previous studies, the proposed processes greatly reduce environmental pollution and cost by halving the use of acids.

Enrichment Mechanism of Lithium in Late Permian Coals in the BijieArea, Guizhou, China

Qingwei Wang et al.

Summary: Research on the enrichment mechanism of lithium in coal in the Bijie area shows that lithium content is high in coal and is positively correlated with ash, clay minerals, total organic matter, and volatile matter. The enrichment of lithium in coal is related to volcanic eruption and marine-land transitional environment.

Extraction of valuable components from coal gangue through thermal activation and HNO3 leaching

Shuang Shao et al.

Summary: This research investigated the thermal activation and leaching process to extract valuable components from coal gangue, revealing the activation behavior and phase transformation mechanism. It was found that efficient extraction of Al, Ga, and Li while precipitating Fe into the leach residue was feasible. The leach residue showed potential as a Si fertilizer source. This study provides valuable insights for the high-value utilization of coal gangue.
