Sustainability assessment of municipal solid waste separate collection and treatment systems in a large metropolitan area

Giovanni Gadaleta et al.

Summary: Using a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis method, this study evaluated and compared the sustainability of different waste management schemes, finding that the door-to-door system is the best solution in environmental and socio-technical terms, despite its higher cost. Interestingly, there is limited deviation between the mixed collection mode and the door-to-door system, suggesting strong competitiveness of the former.

Choline Chloride Induces Growth Performance of Indian Major Carps and Air-Breathing Fish Species with an Outcome of Quality Food-Fish under a Semi-Intensive Culture System: A Biochemical Investigation

Subhas Das et al.

Summary: The present study investigated the effects of direct field application of choline chloride into pond water on the growth and biochemical parameters of Indian major carps and air-breathing fish species. The results showed that choline supplementation led to significant improvements in growth and survivability, while reducing the food conversion ratio. Choline supplementation also improved liver function and increased body protein content in the treated fishes.

Direct choline administration in semi-intensive pisciculture system: A positive contaminant

Subhas Das et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the impact of choline on metabolic enzymes in cultured fish species under semi-intensive pond culture conditions. Choline supplementation showed significant effects on enzyme activities in fish muscle and liver, contributing to a more nutritionally balanced food source. Principal component analysis indicated both positive and negative correlations between enzyme activities in dry and breeding seasons.

Study on impacts of direct supplementation of choline into semi-intensive fish culture system based on haematopoietic alterations

Subhas Das et al.

Summary: The study examined the effects of choline chloride on Indian Major Carps and Air-breathing fishes, revealing significant hematological alterations in choline-fed fishes. The supplementation of choline chloride may enhance the defense mechanism of the fishes, potentially producing disease-resistant species for improved yield and economic benefits for fish farmers.
