Government environmental protection subsidies, environmental tax collection, and green innovation: evidence from listed enterprises in China

The study also reveals that the market-expected performance gap and market competition moderate and reinforce green innovation in enterprises.

Future policy support should be directed towards the thermal power-chemical, thermal power-environmental protection, iron and steel-environmental protection, and social sector-cement subsystems.

Dynamic procurement from multiple suppliers with random capacities

Summary: This study investigates the optimal ordering policy in a periodic-review inventory model with N suppliers of random capacities. The results suggest that having one reliable supplier can lead to a relatively stable ordering policy, even when the other suppliers are unreliable. In the case of sourcing from two suppliers, the optimal policy is shown to be monotone in the inventory level, with more units allocated to the more reliable supplier when inventory is low. The study also reveals that in the case of all-or-nothing supply, there is a threshold below which the order quantity from the expensive supplier exceeds that from the cheaper supplier. Finally, the study demonstrates that the marginal cost of holding inventory increases while the optimal order quantities decrease over the planning horizon.

The results show that even with changes to byproduct utilization in cement production, the emission reduction potential is low and will decrease further as coal-fired electricity generation and blast furnace steel production are phased out. Introducing new technologies for heat recovery can lead to greater emission reductions, but more infrastructure and technology development is needed. Therefore, industrial symbiosis is unlikely to have a significant impact on greenhouse gas emission mitigation in bulk material production.
