Research on the efficiency evaluation of the integration of technology and finance in China's strategic emerging industries

Qing Yang et al.

Summary: The combination of technology and finance has a significant impact on regional social and economic development. Strategic emerging industries, as the convergence of technological innovation and financial support, are of great significance for industrial structure adjustment and improvement of industrial quality. However, the geographical distribution of emerging strategic industries in China is uneven. Thus, this study investigates the input-output efficiency of science and technology finance integration and examines the path of integrated development of science and technology innovation and financial support. The findings reveal the large demand for financial support and obvious regional differences in the development of strategic emerging industries, with the government playing a strong guiding role. Measures and suggestions for the development of strategic emerging industries are proposed accordingly.

Xiang Chen et al.

Summary: China's rapid economic development and increasing GDP over the past forty years has led to serious environmental problems. This research proposes a new model of the green Malmquist productivity index by combining green total factor productivity (GTFP) with the characteristics of the Malmquist and Luenberger indices. The empirical study finds that GTFP in China is increasing but at a decreasing rate, primarily due to a slowdown in technical progress. Additionally, significant differences are observed among the eastern, central, and western regions of China.

Employment Effect of Structural Change in Strategic Emerging Industries

Li Liu et al.

Summary: The stable development of strategic emerging industries promotes industrial transformation and upgrading, impacting not only society and the economy but also employment. This study measures the impact of structural change in strategic emerging industries on employment in China using a regression equation, with employment in strategic emerging industries as the dependent variable and the change direction, employment elasticity, and change speed of the industrial structure as the independent variables. The research findings show that the change direction of strategic emerging industries is positively correlated with employment, the employment elasticity is increasing and positively correlated with employment, and the change speed is unstable and negatively correlated with employment. Therefore, the structural change in strategic emerging industries plays a role in promoting employment. The government should recognize this impact and implement policies to improve the external environment for the development of strategic emerging industries.
