Synthesis of sodium alginate/carboxy-methyl cellulose/Cu-based metal-organic framework composite for adsorption of tetracycline from aqueous solution: Isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic approach

Atefeh Ehsani et al.

Summary: Sodium alginate/carboxy-methyl cellulose/Cu-based metal-organic framework (SA/CMC/Cu-BDC) nano-composite beads were prepared and characterized. The composite beads exhibited high surface area and showed promising adsorption capacity for Tetracycline (TC) antibiotic. The adsorption process followed Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model. Thermodynamical analysis suggested that the adsorption of TC onto the composite beads was spontaneous and endothermic. The interactions of hydrogen bonding, electrostatic, and 7C-7C played significant roles in the adsorption process.

Xuefeng Hong et al.

Summary: Electronic skin or e-skin is a bionic material used in artificial intelligence devices. It consists of pressure sensors that can perceive real-time spatial pressure distribution. In addition to touch and pressure, human skin also has the ability to sense pain. Researchers have developed a pressure memory sensor based on pressure memory foam that exhibits excellent electrical conductivity and can achieve pressure memory and spontaneous recovery. The sensor can bionically sense pain under heavy pressure or impact. Furthermore, the pressure memory foam has excellent electromagnetic interference shielding performance, joule heating performance, and can regulate electromagnetic wave reflection and absorption. Multifunctional pressure memory and pain bionic sensors have great significance and application prospects in e-skin.

A unified approach for stress wave propagation in transversely isotropic elastic and poroelastic layered media

Mohammad Shokrollahi et al.

Summary: A complete solution is presented for stress wave propagation in multi-layered alternatively saturated and dry transversely isotropic elastic media in the frequency domain, where hysteretic damping in the soil skeleton has also been considered. The u-p formulation of Biot's poroelastodynamic theory is considered for the governing equations of the porous layers, while equations of motion of single-phase media are utilized for dry layers. The proposed generalized reflection and transmission matrices are employed to satisfy the compatibility conditions. Some numerical evaluations for simpler cases are presented to show the validity of the solution. Physical aspects of surface permeability, hysteretic damping, anisotropy, and underground water level are studied parametrically to justify the behavior of the solutions, and to discover the physical effects of different parameters involved in the subject.
