Gaining effect of flower-like ZnO nanowire arrays on the responsivity performance of Cu2O/ZnO heterojunction photodetector

Xiaomiao Fei et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that nanostructures have a significant gain effect on the performance of photodetectors (PDs). In this study, Cu2O and ZnO films were prepared using electrochemical and magnetron sputtering methods, respectively, and ZnO nanowire arrays (NWAs) were grown on Cu2O/ZnO PDs using a hydrothermal method. The introduction of ZnO nanowires effectively improved the responsivity and light absorption of the Cu2O/ZnO PD by about 16 times. The ZnO nanowires also enhanced the detection sensitivity of the Cu2O/ZnO/ZnO NWs PD by nearly 5 times, demonstrating their remarkable improvement for heterojunction PDs.

Solution-processed ZnO nanoparticles (NPs)/CH3NH3PbI3/PTB7/MoO3/Ag inverted structure based UV-visible-Near Infrared (NIR) broadband photodetector

Rishibrind Kumar Upadhyay et al.

Summary: This paper presents an inverted structure UV-visible-Near Infrared (NIR) broadband photodetector featuring ZnO Nanoparticles (NPs)/CH3NH3PbI3/PTB7/MoO3/Ag. The ZnO NPs layer serves as the electron transport layer (ETL), CH3NH3PbI3 functions as the active layer, PTB7 acts as the hole transport layer (HTL), and MoO3 is utilized to optimize the recombination current in the photodetector structure. The proposed device exhibits desirable optical and electrical characteristics, with a maximum photoresponsivity of -0.36 A/W, detectivity of -7.8x1012 Jones, and external quantum efficiency (EQE) of -83.67% under a bias voltage of -2 V. The rise time and fall time are measured as 81 ms and 75 ms, respectively.

UV-Vis photodetector based on ionic liquid-modified perovskite-ZnO composite

Yanyan Peng et al.

Summary: In this study, a simple method was proposed to improve the photoelectric performance of photodetectors by introducing an ionic liquid to encourage the growth of perovskite grains. The addition of the ionic liquid resulted in significant increases in the light-dark current ratio, the spectral responsivity, and the external quantum efficiency, improving the overall performance of the photodetectors.
