In-situ pre-lithiated onion-like SiOC/C anode materials based on metallasilsesquioxanes for Li-ion batteries

Xieji Lin et al.

Summary: In-situ chemical pre-lithiation strategy was used to fabricate onion-like SiOC/C spheres with high initial coulombic efficiency. The uniform generation of LixSiOy inside the spheres effectively reduces the irreversible consumption of Li ions and simplifies the pre-lithiation process. The structures of SiOC/C spheres also provide superior structural integrity, showing potential for high energy density and cycling stability in LIB applications.

Nano-structured silicon and silicon based composites as anode materials for lithium ion batteries: recent progress and perspectives

Zelalem Bitew et al.

Summary: There is a growing interest worldwide in developing lithium ion batteries with high energy densities and longer cycle life. Silicon is considered one of the most promising anode materials for next-generation lithium-ion batteries, but its successful implementation faces challenges such as severe volume change and low electrical conductivity. Building silicon nanostructures and fabricating silicon composites are effective methods to enhance the electrochemical performance of silicon anodes.

Confined self-assembly of SiOC nanospheres in graphene film to achieve cycle stability of lithium ion batteries

Wuming Liu et al.

Summary: SiOC nanoparticles are proposed as promising anodes for Li-ion batteries due to high capacity and cycling stability. However, side reactions hinder their practical application. This study develops a confined self-assembly process to encapsulate boron doped SiOC nanospheres into a conductive graphene film, resulting in a B-SiOC@G anode with excellent cycle stability.

Porous Carbon Nanosphere with Multiple Heteroatom Doping Derived from Silicon Oxycarbonitride as Sulfur Host for Lithium-Sulfur Batteries

Qingqing Chen et al.

Summary: The porous carbon nanosphere with multiple heteroatom doping derived from silicon oxycarbonitride is reported as a robust host of the sulfur cathode for lithium-sulfur batteries. The optimized sample of SiOCN-H-1 possesses a larger pore volume and contains multiple heteroatoms of Si, O, and N. The high performances of the S/SiOCN-H-1 cathode are primarily contributed by the porous spherical structure and the chemical bonding capability of doped heteroatoms in SiOCN-H-1.
