Effect of Cu grain boundary modification on microstructure and corrosion resistance in recycled Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets

Mengjie Pan et al.

Summary: In this study, the corrosion resistance of Nd-Fe-B recycled magnets was improved by adding 0.3 wt% copper powder with an average grain size of 1 μm. The Cu-modified magnets showed significantly reduced mass loss in accelerated corrosion tests, which can be attributed to the change in crystal structure of the grain boundary phase after Cu modification.

The evaluation of high-temperature oxidation for the original and recycled Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets

X. T. Li et al.

Summary: The high-temperature oxidation resistance is a critical evaluation index for the practical applications of Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets. In this study, the high-temperature oxidation behavior of recycled Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets was investigated and compared with the original magnets. The results show that recycled magnets negatively influence the high-temperature oxidation resistance compared with the original magnets.
