Phenomenological statistics of diluted charged solutions (Review Article)

I. Chikina

Summary: This article proposes a consistent interpretation of the equilibrium and simplest transport properties of diluted liquid electrolytes, normal and cryogenic, by drawing an analogy with the observed consequences of electron-hole statistics in crystalline semiconductors. It discusses the possibility of extracting micro characteristics of individual charged clusters from experimental data and highlights the deep analogy between electrolyte and solid-state semiconductor statistics.

Charged Colloids at the Metal-Electrolyte Interface

Ioulia Chikina et al.

Summary: This article discusses the structure at the interface between a metal and a charged nanoparticle colloidal dispersion in an electrolyte. The attractive force between the interface and the colloidal particles leads to the acquisition of an effective charge, creating an electric dipole and resulting in repulsion between particles.
