Two Biosensors for the Determination of VEGF-R2 in Plasma by Array SPRi

Lukasz Oldak et al.

Summary: Two biosensors based on gold and silver/gold bimetallic chips were developed to detect vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGF-R2) in plasma, which is a marker for cancer angiogenesis and metastasis. Both biosensors showed good linearity and precision, with recovery rates within the expected range. The biosensors were validated by parallel determination of VEGF-R2 in multiple plasma samples using the ELISA immunosensor assay. Thermodynamic parameters of the VEGF-R2-antibody interaction were determined using QCM and SPRi measurements.

The Measurement and Interpretation of Fibroblast Growth Factor 23 (FGF23) Concentrations

Annemieke C. Heijboer et al.

Summary: The hormone FGF23 plays a central role in regulating phosphate homeostasis and has been associated with certain diseases. Various immunoassays have been developed to measure FGF23 in blood, but standardization is lacking. Currently, FGF23 measurement is clinically used in the diagnosis of hereditary hypophosphatemic rickets and tumor-induced osteomalacia. However, its usefulness in predicting risks or as a treatment target in CKD patients requires further research.

Optical fiber SPR biosensor based on gold nanoparticle amplification for DNA hybridization detection

Like Li et al.

Summary: This study proposes an optical fiber SPR biosensor based on a sandwich model with gold nanoparticles amplification for high sensitivity DNA hybridization detection. The experimental results show a log-linear response in the DNA concentration range of 1 pM-10 nM with high sensitivity and detection limit.
