Extract of Wheatgrass and Aronia Mixture Ameliorates Atopic Dermatitis-Related Symptoms by Suppressing Inflammatory Response and Oxidative Stress In Vitro and In Vivo

Ji-Hyun Lee et al.

Summary: Atopic dermatitis is regulated by the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines via specific signaling pathways, as well as the release of oxidative stress-related factors. This study investigated the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of a mixture extract of wheatgrass and aronia (TAAR) in vitro and in vivo. The results showed that TAAR extract inhibited inflammatory mediators and increased the expression of oxidative stress defense enzymes. Furthermore, treatment with TAAR extract alleviated atopic dermatitis-like symptoms in a mouse model. Therefore, TAAR extract may be a potential natural therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis.

Wheatgrass inhibits the lipopolysaccharide-stimulated inflammatory effect in RAW 264.7 macrophages

Somesh Banerjee et al.

Summary: Wheatgrass extract demonstrates significant anti-inflammatory effects against the harmful impact of LPS in macrophage cells, including inhibition of nitric oxide production, downregulation of pro-inflammatory marker expression, prevention of reactive oxygen species generation, and reduction in inflammatory protein expression. This suggests that wheatgrass may be a potential therapeutic candidate for preventing inflammation.
