Photocatalytic and Antibacterial activities of bio-synthesised silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Grewia asiatica leaves extract

Muhammad Ateeb et al.

Summary: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized at room temperature using Grewia asiatica leaf extract, and their photocatalytic activity (degradation of organic dye) and biological activities (antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-arthritic) were investigated. The optical and physicochemical properties of the synthesized AgNPs were characterized using various techniques. AgNPs showed efficient photocatalytic activity for the degradation of crystal violet dye under visible light. They also exhibited excellent antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-arthritic activities. This study demonstrates the potential of AgNPs as versatile materials with applications in photocatalysis and biomedical fields.

Eco-Friendly Green Synthesis of Rubropunctatin Functionalized Silver Nanoparticles and Evaluation of Antibacterial Activity

Guibin Lin et al.

Summary: Rubropunctatin-functionalized silver nanoparticles (R-AgNPs) were successfully synthesized using rubropunctatin as the reducing and blocking agent. R-AgNPs exhibited excellent stability and strong antibacterial activity, with the mechanism of antibacterial action being the destruction of bacterial cell membrane. The cytotoxicity of R-AgNPs was lower than that of commercial silver nanoparticles.

Difference in performance and mechanism for methylene blue when TiO2 nanoparticles are converted to nanotubes

Lin Niu et al.

Summary: This study synthesized TiO2 NTs using TiO2 NPs as raw materials and analyzed their differences in adsorption and photocatalytic performance. TiO2 NTs showed better adsorption performance and photocatalytic activity, but a slight decrease in photocatalytic efficiency due to changes in crystal structure. Under optimal conditions, TiO2 NTs can rapidly degrade MB through synergistic adsorption and photocatalysis.
