A model for pest control using integrated approach: impact of latent and gestation delays

Fahad Al Basir et al.

Summary: In this article, a mathematical model using impulsive differential equations is established to analyze the dynamics of crop pest management in the presence of a pest, its predator, and bio-pesticides. The study finds that both latent time and gestation delay are crucial for successful crop pest management.

Modeling the effects of insecticides and external efforts on crop production

A. K. Misra et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a nonlinear mathematical model to understand the effects of insects, insecticides, and external efforts on agricultural crop productions. Through global sensitivity analysis, key parameters for effective control strategies are identified, and numerical simulations are performed to support analytical findings.

A mathematical study of a crop-pest-natural enemy model with Z-type control

Dibyendu Sekhar Mandal et al.

Summary: This paper examines the application of the Z-type control method to a crop-pest-natural enemy model, focusing on the use of an indirect Z-controller in the natural enemy population. The study validates the mathematical properties of the model through numerical analysis and highlights the effectiveness of using an indirect Z-control mechanism in controlling pest populations.

Farming awareness based optimum interventions for crop pest control

Teklebirhan Abraha et al.

Summary: A mathematical model based on ordinary differential equations is developed to investigate crop pest management, analyzing equilibrium points and stability as well as optimal control measures. The study demonstrates the positivity and boundedness of all solutions, along with the local stability of equilibrium points using the Routh-Hurwitz criterion. Optimal control theory is applied to find interventions that decrease the number of pests, with the existence and characterization of optimal controls established using Pontryagin's minimum principle. Numerical simulations are used to illustrate the theoretical analysis of the model with and without control measures.
