Mechanical and tribological performance of Al-Fe-SiC-Zr hybrid composites produced through powder metallurgy process

G. R. Raghav et al.

Summary: In this study, Al-Fe-SiC-Zr ternary metal matrix composites were prepared and their properties were investigated. The addition of Zr particles improved the hardness and compressive strength of the composite material, while reducing the porosity. Wear studies showed that Al-10Fe-10SiC-10Zr exhibited better wear resistance.
