By applying decisive-sinusoidal thermal stimuli and suitable wettability patterns, the soluto-hydrodynamics is achieved. The parametric influence of thermal and slip boundary conditions on the hydrodynamic transport phenomena is discussed, revealing the control they have on vortex transport, stretching, and solutal mixing efficiency.

Evaporation kinetics of wettability-moderated capillary bridges and squeezed droplets

Summary: In this study, we experimentally and theoretically investigate the evaporation kinetics of liquid capillary bridges and squeezed droplets under different heights and wettability conditions. We find that the bridge height and wettability conditions significantly influence the evaporation behavior. The evaporation rate is increased for smaller relative spacing between hydrophilic surfaces due to increased curvature of the liquid-vapor interface. Vapor entrapment plays a significant role in addition to interfacial curvature, especially for small relative spacing on superhydrophobic surfaces. The shape of the bridge undergoes a transition in curvature for mixed wettability bridges, which governs their temporal evaporation rate. The stability and contact line dynamics of the bridge during evaporation are strongly influenced by capillary pressure and the geometry of the liquid-vapor interface.
