The literature on dispersive solvent microextraction comprises a great many methodologies, different possibilities and a broad range of terminology, all of which greatly complicates the classification of these methods as well as the conditions to be specified in the procedure name, its acronym or both. Our view on the current status of this issue is presented with the goal of standardizing and simplifying the terminology. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
