Facile hydrothermal synthesis of Dy-doped NiMnO3 nanoflakes as a highly stable electrode for energy conversion system

Dalal Alhashmialameer et al.

Summary: Supercapacitors have attracted a lot of research interest recently. However, it is still challenging to create mixed transition metal oxide-based supercapacitor materials with large specific capacitance, structural strength, and high energy efficiency at a low cost. In this study, dysprosium-doped nickel manganese oxide with different concentrations was prepared using a simple co-precipitation method for energy conversion systems. The electrochemical performance of the Dy-doped NiMnO3 on Copper foam (CF) as the conductive substrate was investigated. The results showed that the 0.05 M Dy-doped NMO/CF electrode exhibited high specific capacitance and energy density, suggesting the potential of using large amounts of Dy-doped NiMnO3 as a material for next-generation supercapacitors.

Highly performed tungsten trioxide-polyaniline composite thin film and their accelerated oxygen evolution electrocatalyst activity

Asma M. Alenad et al.

Summary: In this study, a hydrothermal technique was used to incorporate a thin layer of WO3 onto PANI, forming a low-cost and efficient catalyst for the oxygen evolution process. The WO3-PANI demonstrated excellent electrocatalytic activity and durability, with higher current densities achieved at lower overpotentials. The integration of PANI increased the surface area and exposed more active spots for the oxygen evolution reaction, while WO3 and PANI synergistically contributed to the enhanced performance and stability of the catalyst.

Visible light driven Ni doped hematite for photocatalytic reduction of noxious methylene blue

Asma M. Alenad et al.

Summary: In this study, pure Fe2O3 and three different Ni-doped Fe2O3 nanoparticles with doping concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15% were synthesized using an eco-friendly hydrothermal approach. The materials were characterized using various techniques, which confirmed the incorporation of Ni2+ ions into Fe2O3 and the reduction in particle size and aggregation. The Ni doping also resulted in a decrease in bandgap energy and an enhancement in photocatalytic activity. Among the samples, 10% Ni-doped Fe2O3 nanoparticles exhibited the highest methylene blue degradation after 100 minutes.

Fabrication of high-performance symmetric supercapacitor of graphene electrodes by tuning their electrochemical properties

Sreelakshmi Rajeevan et al.

Summary: In this study, highly efficient rGO/PVDF composite electrodes were synthesized by tuning the concentration of PVDF as a binder. The composite electrodes exhibited a symmetric elliptical-shaped voltammogram and quasi-triangular-shaped GCD curves, indicating excellent charging-discharging stability. The fabricated symmetric EDLC supercapacitor using the PvG2 electrode showed ideal supercapacitor behavior with high symmetry. The highest power and energy densities were achieved for the supercapacitors, and a high capacitance retention and coulombic efficiency were observed after 5000 cycles.
