Achievement of broadband NIR emission in double perovskite NaLaMgWO6 via non-equivalent substitution of Cr3+

Fen Xiao et al.

Summary: In this study, a broadband NIR emission with a large FWHM is achieved in NaLaMgWO6 phosphor by non-equivalent substitution of Cr3+. Crystal structure analysis and first-principle calculation reveal that Cr3+ prefers to substitute Mg2+, resulting in the formation of random-distributed Na+ vacancies. The effect of these substitutions on the NIR luminescence of NaLaMgWO6:Cr3+ is investigated, and a broadband NIR pc-LED prototype is successfully fabricated.
