Electron-Rich Diruthenium Complexes with π-Extended Alkenyl Ligands and Their F4TCNQ Charge-Transfer Salts

Rajorshi Das et al.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of dinuclear ruthenium alkenyl complexes with π-conjugated bridging ligands are reported. The study on the electrochemical properties and structure features suggests that the electron-rich complexes have intrinsically delocalized mixed-valent species, while the complexes with longer bridging ligands show partial localization in the infrared spectrum.

Electron-rich Coordination Receptors Based on Tetrathiafulvalene Derivatives: Controlling the Host-Guest Binding

Sebastien Goeb et al.

Summary: The coordination-driven self-assembly methodology is a versatile synthetic tool for obtaining complex discrete structures such as interlocked, chiral, or heteroleptic cages. Efforts have been made to control host-guest affinity, particularly in targeting substrate transportation and releasing. Redox-stimulation offers novel possibilities for controlling the host-guest binding affinity and triggering guest release.
