An ELICIT information-based ORESTE method for failure mode and effect analysis considering risk correlation with GRA-DEMATEL

Zhen Hua et al.

Summary: Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) is a powerful reliability analysis technique used to identify and prevent risks in various fields. However, current FMEA methods have limitations, such as subjective weighting and ignoring different relationships. This paper proposes a novel FMEA method that incorporates multi-criteria decision-making techniques to improve performance. The approach utilizes ELICIT for group risk assessments, GRA and DEMATEL for objective weighting, and a generalized ORESTE method for failure mode prioritization.

On extended power geometric operator for proportional hesitant fuzzy linguistic large-scale group decision-making

Sheng-Hua Xiong et al.

Summary: This study aims to expand the practical application scope of the power geometric operator and develop a proportional hesitant fuzzy linguistic large-scale group decision-making model. An extended power geometric (EPG) operator is introduced to identify outliers as important or false/biased data in accordance with the decision-making context. The study also proposes a proportional hesitant fuzzy linguistic extended power geometric (PHFLEPG) operator and provides a consensus reaching approach based on this operator to simplify the decision-making process. The feasibility and effectiveness of the established model are validated through a case study on regulatory capacity evaluation for the Civil Aviation Safety Regulatory Authority of China (CASRAC).

Encoding words into interval type-2 fuzzy sets: The retained region approach

Hao Li et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a novel approach called the retained region approach for encoding words into interval type-2 fuzzy sets. The approach redesigns the data part and establishes a new fuzzy set part based on the principle of justifiable granularity. The approach is versatile and can adjust the capacity of the retained region along the mean and standard deviation dimensions.

Consensus reaching model for counter-intuitive in D-S evidence theory and application under 2-tuple linguistic representation

Chenliang Li et al.

Summary: Dempster-Shafer evidence theory is a multi-source technology that utilizes information from different sources to solve uncertain problems. However, conflicting evidence can lead to counter-intuitive results and confuse decision-makers. In this paper, a consensus reaching model is proposed to overcome the influence of conflicting evidence. The 2-tuple linguistic representation method is used to model and manage vague decision information. A case study on the selection of plant protection machine suppliers is conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, revealing a strong correlation between consistency value and conflicting value of evidence.
