Synthesis of visible light responsive ZnCoFe layered double hydroxide towards enhanced photocatalytic activity in water treatment

Summary: This study successfully synthesized a ternary layered double hydroxide containing Zn, Co, and Fe transition metals using a co-precipitation procedure and evaluated its photocatalytic performance in the degradation of methylene blue under visible light irradiation. The results showed that the catalyst exhibited high photocatalytic activity and stability, making it suitable for long-term application in photocatalytic water treatment.

The nanocatalyst showed highly facilitated rate constant and turnover frequency compared to commercial Pt black, offering valuable insights for preparation of efficient and recyclable catalysts in environmental remediation.
