A Solution to TMR-EMT Blind Spots Based on Biaxial TMR

Chao Wang et al.

Summary: Electromagnetic tomography based on tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR-EMT) is a new electrical tomography technology that reconstructs the magnetic permeability distribution using the boundary magnetic induction intensity. The traditional blind spots in TMR-EMT, which occur when the boundary magnetic induction intensity direction is orthogonal to the sensitive axis direction, can lead to failure of imaging. This article proposes a solution using biaxial TMR (Bi-TMR) to measure the boundary magnetic induction intensity, which eliminates the blind spots and obtains complete boundary magnetic induction intensity in the plane.

A New Truncation Strategy for Regularized D-Bar Method Used for ERT Image Reconstruction

Qi Guo et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new truncation strategy for regularized D-bar method for electrical resistance tomography (ERT) image reconstruction is proposed. By applying Tikhonov regularization theory to the scattering transform of D-bar algorithm and establishing a new relation between the noise level and truncation based on the Dirichlet-to-Neumann (DN) map, it is shown that the new approach has better performance in directly reconstructing the conductivity distribution for ERT.
