Nonlinearity Compensation and High-Frequency Flexibility Suppression Based RIC Method for Precision Motion Control Systems

Ran Zhou et al.

Summary: In this article, a novel real-time iterative compensation (RIC) method is proposed to achieve excellent tracking performance in precision motion systems. The method compensates and suppresses nonlinearity as well as high-frequency flexible mode, which limits control performance. It further reduces tracking error by adding a compensation term to the reference trajectory using accurate linear prediction model. The proposed method outperforms iterative learning control (ILC) in terms of tracking performance and robustness.

High-Precision Control Solution for Asymmetrical Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators Based on the Three-Port Pump and Disturbance Observers

Fengqi Zhou et al.

Summary: This article proposes a solution to the flow mismatch, strong nonlinearity, and complex disturbance challenges in electro-hydrostatic actuator (EHA) control. It introduces a three-port piston pump to replace the traditional two-port piston pump in EHA, and designs an extended state observer and a nonlinear disturbance observer to estimate matched and mismatched disturbances. The virtual decomposition control method is adopted to achieve high-precision nonlinear control of EHA.

Robust Observer-Based Visual Servo Control for Quadrotors Tracking Unknown Moving Targets

Jie Lin et al.

Summary: This article proposes an image-based geometric tracking control strategy for a quadrotor to track an unknown moving target under external disturbances using continuous observer design. By designing a higher order sliding mode observer and an outer loop IBVS controller, position convergence and attitude regulation are achieved, and the proposed approach achieves asymptotic stability as proven by theoretical analysis.

Integrated Disturbance Observer-Based Robust Force Control

Kangwagye Samuel et al.

Summary: For robotic tasks involving both transmitting and contact force control, it is challenging to achieve high-performance motion control and stable environment contact. This article proposes a novel integrated disturbance observer (DOB) (IDOB) that effectively isolates and suppresses force disturbances while ensuring contact stability. Experimental results demonstrate improved force control and disturbance suppression with the IDOB in both free space and contact scenarios, reducing peak collision force and maintaining contact stability with stiff environments.

Robust Locomotion Exploiting Multiple Balance Strategies: An Observer-Based Cascaded Model Predictive Control Approach

Jiatao Ding et al.

Summary: This article proposes a disturbance observer-based cascaded model predictive control approach for robust locomotion of humanoid robots. The method utilizes ankle, stepping, hip, and height variation strategies and includes low-frequency nonlinear model predictive control for 3-D locomotion and high-frequency linear model predictive control for regulating angular momentum. A high order sliding mode observer is designed for estimating system states and dynamic disturbances. Simulation and hardware experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach in real-world scenarios.

Disturbance Rejection and Robustness of Improved Equivalent-Input-Disturbance-Based System

Youwu Du et al.

Summary: The improved equivalent-input-disturbance approach compensates for the effects of disturbances and uncertainties through the design of an estimator, allowing for a decrease in system sensitivity. There is insufficient analysis of the influence of uncertainties on control performance and system stability. The addition of a new filter removes constraints between design parameters and uncertainties, enhancing system robustness.
