Stabilization bound of singularly perturbed switched nonlinear systems subject to actuator saturation using the Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model

Qianjin Wang et al.

Summary: This paper addresses the measurement problem of stability bound for saturated singularly perturbed switched nonlinear systems through the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model method. A state-feedback stabilization controller, incorporating the singular perturbation parameter, is constructed using the common Lyapunov function method to achieve asymptotic stability for the switched closed-loop system under arbitrary switching. Additionally, a basin of attraction is determined by solving a convex optimization problem.

Extremum-Seeking-Based Adaptive Model-Free Control and Its Application to Automated Vehicle Path Tracking

Zejiang Wang et al.

Summary: Traditional automated vehicle path-tracking algorithms that rely on plant models face challenges in obtaining accurate vehicle models due to complex tire-road interaction. Data-driven controllers, such as model-free control (MFC), have gained popularity. However, the control gain tuning of MFC remains a trial-and-error process. This article proposes integrating MFC with extremum-seeking control (ESC) to improve control performance.

Summary: This paper presents a human-like decision making framework for AVs considering the coexistence of human-driven vehicles and autonomous vehicles in the future. Different driving styles, social interaction characteristics, game theory, and model predictive control are applied for decision making in AVs. Testing scenarios of lane change show that game theoretic approaches can provide reasonable human-like decision making, with the Stackelberg game theory approach reducing the cost value by over 20% under normal driving style compared to the Nash equilibrium approach.

Effects of wind loads and floating bridge motion on intercity bus lateral stability

Dragan Sekulic et al.

Summary: Through simulation results, it is found that the bus can suitably enter the bridge at a lower speed (e.g., 72 km/h), with the possibility of increasing the speed (up to 90 km/h) after approximately 2 km of traveled distance. The deviation of the vehicle from the path increases with increasing bus speed after entering the bridge, potentially causing difficulty for the driver to control the vehicle.
