Resilience optimization for multi-UAV formation reconfiguration via enhanced pigeon-inspired optimization

Qiang Feng et al.

Summary: This paper develops a novel optimization method for the resilience of multi-UAV formations to achieve rapid and accurate reconfiguration under random attacks. It applies a resilience metric to reflect the effect and rapidity of multi-UAV formation resisting random attacks, establishes an optimization model based on a parameter optimization problem, and designs an Adaptive Learning-based Pigeon-Inspired Optimization (ALPIO) algorithm to optimize the resilience value. The proposed approach is verified through a case study of typical formation topologies with six UAVs.

Improved resilience measure for component recovery priority in power grids

Guanghan Bai et al.

Summary: A new research direction has emerged to quickly recover power grids after disasters due to the complexity of power grids and the potential for large-scale economic losses from component failures. This study proposes an improved measure of power grid resilience and the corresponding importance measures for prioritizing the recovery of failed components post-disaster. Analyzing data from the 2019 Power Yearbook of cities in Shandong Province, China, the study demonstrates varying recovery priorities for components with different importance measures, thus proving the feasibility of the proposed method to evaluate power grid resilience under different repair conditions.

Bayesian Importance Measures for Network Edges Under Saturated Lagrangian Poisson Failures

Yongjun Du et al.

Summary: Bayesian importance measures (BIMs) are effective tools for quantifying the contribution of edges to network states, especially under the assumption of failures following a saturated Lagrangian Poisson distribution. The derived BIM equations provide insight into the importance of edges in network structures and their rankings. Numerical analyses demonstrate the effectiveness of BIMs in measuring edge importance in medium to relatively large networks.
