Analysis, Design, and Validation of a Decoupled Double-Receiver Wireless Power Transfer System With Constant Voltage Outputs for Industrial Power Supplies

Heshou Wang et al.

Summary: This article investigates a magnetic coupler for a double-receiver WPT system that suppresses unwanted cross-couplings. Undesirable couplings between receivers and between the source coil and receivers are eliminated using orthometric DD coils and Q-shaped coils. The coupler design process is efficient and easily generalizable, and experimental results show high efficiency and constant output voltages.

Self-Aligning Capability of IPT Pads for High-Power Wireless EV Charging Stations

Alireza Namadmalan et al.

Summary: This article studies the magnetic forces between the transmitter and receiver coils in an inductive power transfer system. The research aims to utilize these forces to align the coils and improve the efficiency of power transfer. The analysis shows that high-power IPT systems can generate enough attractive force to align the coils, even at nominal current. This self-aligning capability can be utilized to design smart charging stations for various applications.
