Assessing the amount of the anatase and rutile phases of TiO2 by optical reflectance measurements

A. R. Zanatta

Summary: The anatase and rutile phases of a series of titanium dioxide samples were investigated by optical diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, showing the potential of estimating the phase composition with good precision. The optical bandgaps were also determined and correlated with the rutile mass ratio.

Silicon photomultiplier-based scintillation detectors for photon-counting CT: A feasibility study

Stefan J. van der Sar et al.

Summary: The study explores the feasibility of using SiPM-based scintillation detectors in photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT) scanners as an alternative to CdTe and CZT detectors. By introducing a model and conducting validation experiments, the research shows promising results in terms of energy resolution and pulse shape. The study suggests that with further development, SiPM-based detectors have the potential to compete with traditional detectors in terms of performance.
