Realization of optically transparent and broadband frequency selective rasorber using thin copper wire

Jianzhong Chen et al.

Summary: A new method to design transparent frequency selective rasorber (FSR) is proposed in this paper. By utilizing a thin copper wire to design a lossy layer, high transparency, in-band transmission, and out-of-band absorption can be achieved simultaneously. The physical mechanism of the FSR is revealed through equivalent circuit model, electric field distribution, and loss distribution analysis.

Miniaturized Periodicity Broadband Absorber With Via-Based Hybrid Metal-Graphene Structure for Large-Angle RCS Reduction

Yu-Tong Zhao et al.

Summary: This article introduces a via-based hybrid metal-graphene metamaterial absorber with miniaturized periodicity, broad absorption band, and large-angle radar cross section (RCS) reduction. The absorber's unit cell consists of a cross-shaped graphene film, four metal arrow-shaped patterns, and four cylindrical vias. By extending the length of the vias and folding the pattern shape, the absorber's unit size is greatly reduced while maintaining absorption performance. The adopted hybrid metal-graphene structure reduces complexity and fabrication cost.

Dispersion-Engineered, Broadband, Wide-Angle, Polarization-Independent Microwave Metamaterial Absorber

Ting Shi et al.

Summary: In this research, a low-profile, wideband microwave metamaterial absorber with wide-angle and polarization-independent responses was proposed by controlling multiple resistive electric and magnetic resonances. The use of a vertical periodic crossed mesh array improved wide-angle polarization-independent absorption, and a dispersion-engineered design strategy for angular- and polarization-insensitive responses was described with numerical evidence and electromagnetic response behaviors. Both numerical and experimental results showed that the proposed strategy is an effective way to achieve wide-angle and polarization-independent responses in a broadband spectrum, which is promising for various strategic applications.
