Passivity and Finite-Time Passivity for Multi-Weighted Fractional-Order Complex Networks With Fixed and Adaptive Couplings

Jin-Liang Wang et al.

Summary: This article presents new concepts of alpha-passivity and alpha-finite-time passivity (alpha-FTP) for fractional-order systems with different input and output dimensions, extending existing definitions and conditions. The study develops sufficient conditions for alpha-passivity of multi-weighted fractional-order complex dynamical networks (MWFOCDNs) with fixed and adaptive couplings, and discusses synchronization based on alpha-output-strict passivity (alpha-OSP). Additionally, alpha-FTP for MWFOCDNs with fixed and adaptive couplings is studied using a designed state feedback controller, and the relationship between finite-time synchronization (FTS) and alpha-FTP is illustrated. The validity of the obtained criteria is demonstrated through numerical examples and simulation results.

Analysis and Synthesis of Gradient Algorithms Based on Fractional-Order System Theory

Yiheng Wei et al.

Summary: This study proposes a framework for processing gradient algorithms based on the nabla fractional-order system theory. The gradient algorithm is transformed into a nabla fractional-order dynamic system, and it is designed using control theory and analyzed using the Lyapunov theory, which improves the performance of the algorithm. Three types of algorithms are built in this study, and a comprehensive simulation study is conducted to verify the correctness, usefulness, and practicality of the framework.

LMI-Based Stability Analysis of Continuous-Discrete Fractional-Order 2D Roesser Model

Zhen Zhu et al.

Summary: This manuscript investigates the problem of structural stability of continuous-discrete fractional-order 2D Roesser model. By using equivalent transform and generalized Kalman-Yakubovic-Popov lemma, the necessary and sufficient stability conditions for this model are established. Our results, in the form of linear matrix inequalities, are more accurate than existing results and applicable in a wider range of cases with continuous fractional-order dimension.

Discrete-Time Super-Twisting Fractional-Order Observer With Implicit Euler Method

Xiaogang Xiong et al.

Summary: This work presents the design of a discrete-time super-twisting algorithm based fractional-order observer for a specific class of non-linear fractional-order systems. The proposed observer achieves higher performance in terms of robustness and convergence time compared to traditional integer-order observers. It generalizes the observer design for non-linear fractional-order systems. The proposed approach reduces the significance of peaking phenomenon and suppresses chattering using the Fractional Adams-Moulton Method, an implicit Euler discretization technique. The importance of the proposed observer is illustrated through a simulation example.

Lyapunov Stability Theory for Nonlinear Nabla Fractional Order Systems

Yiheng Wei

Summary: The Lyapunov method is a powerful tool for studying the stability of dynamic systems. This paper focuses on the boundedness of nonlinear nabla fractional order systems and derives two stability criteria using the nabla Laplace transform. Two numerical examples are provided to evaluate the effectiveness and practicability of the theoretical results.

Discrete-Time Super-Twisting Fractional-Order Differentiator With Implicit Euler Method

Rahul Kumar Sharma et al.

Summary: This study presents a new fractional-order differentiator for second-order systems, which outperforms traditional integer-order differentiators in terms of convergence time and robustness, and relaxes the boundedness condition required by the second-order derivatives of functions in conventional differentiators. By using numerical integration technique, chattering is effectively suppressed.
