A high-gain, broadband, and +/- 45 degrees polarized patch antenna array for Wi-Fi 6/6E application with a simple configuration is proposed. The antenna is composed of a substrate board and a metal layer, with all patches and feeding circuits printed on the bottom surface of the board. T-shaped dipoles driven by parallel dual lines are used to excite the patches, and their parameters are designed to achieve broadband coverage of both 5 and 6 GHz bands of Wi-Fi 6/6E. A prototype is fabricated and tested, showing measured bandwidth and gains in agreement with simulated results. The proposed antenna offers advantages in high gain, low cost, and easy processing compared to other unidirectional antennas.
A high-gain, broadband, and +/- 45 degrees polarized patch antenna array with a quite simple configuration for Wi-Fi 6/6E application is proposed in this letter. The antenna consists of a substrate board and a metal layer. All the patches and feeding circuits are printed on the bottom surface of the board. The patches are excited by T-shaped dipoles, which are driven by parallel dual lines. The parameters of the dipoles and parallel dual lines are specially designed to achieve a broadband covering both 5 and 6 GHz bands ofWi-Fi 6/6E. A prototype was fabricated and tested to validate the concept. In agreement with the simulated results, the measured bandwidth with S-11 < -10 dB for two ports are both 5.00-7.50 GHz, with the isolation higher than 22 dB. Besides, the measured gains for two ports are higher than 9.80 and 9.38 dBi over the operating band. Compared with other unidirectional antennas, the proposed antenna shows great advantages in high gain, lowcost, and easy processing.
