Iron Exports From Catchments Are Constrained by Redox Status and Topography

Joerg Tittel et al.

Summary: This study investigates the influence of catchment topography and competing electron acceptors on the release of Fe, OC, and P from soils to streams. The results suggest that catchment topography and NO3- $\mathrm{N}{{\mathrm{O}}_{3}}<^>{-}$ concentrations have significant effects on stream Fe concentrations and OC:Fe, P:Fe ratios.

The current state of uncertainty reporting in ecosystem studies: a systematic evaluation of peer-reviewed literature

Ruth D. Yanai et al.

Summary: Transparency and completeness in reporting uncertainty is crucial for scientific progress, yet many ecosystem studies fall short in adequately addressing all relevant sources of uncertainty. Papers focusing on specific topics show higher rates of reporting relevant uncertainty sources, indicating room for improvement in addressing measurement error, problematic data, and natural variation in scientific reporting.
