Bayesian spatiotemporal modeling on complex-valued fMRI signals via kernel convolutions

Cheng-Han Yu et al.

Summary: We propose a model-based approach that combines Bayesian variable selection tools, a novel spatial kernel convolution structure, and autoregressive processes for detecting brain activation in CV-fMRI data. Our proposed spatiotemporal model leads to more accurate results compared to alternative spatial approaches and other complex-valued models.

Joint connectivity matrix independent component analysis: Auto-linking of structural and functional connectivities

Lei Wu et al.

Summary: The study of human brain connectivity provides insights into brain function and its relationship to behavior and cognition. Integrating structural connectivity and functional connectivity into a single framework is challenging. In this study, a new method called joint connectivity matrix independent component analysis (cmICA) is introduced, which allows for the integration of these two types of connectivity measurements using functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diffusion-weighted MRI data.

Low-Rank Tucker-2 Model for Multi-Subject fMRI Data Decomposition With Spatial Sparsity Constraint

Yue Han et al.

Summary: Tucker decomposition is commonly used for analyzing multi-subject fMRI data, but traditional methods are insufficient for extracting common patterns across subjects. In this study, we propose a low rank Tucker-2 model with spatial sparsity constraint to analyze multi-subject fMRI data. The results demonstrate that this method is more effective in extracting common spatial and temporal components compared to other algorithms, and the features extracted from the core tensor show promise for subject classification.

SSPNet: An interpretable 3D-CNN for classification of schizophrenia using phase maps of resting-state complex-valued fMRI data

Qiu-Hua Lin et al.

Summary: The study proposes using spatial source phase (SSP) maps derived from complex-valued fMRI data as the input for CNN, improving the classification accuracy and AUC for patients with mental disorders. The SSPNet framework integrates CNN with interpretability modules, providing additional information for understanding the output results.
