The Effect of Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution: An Umbrella Review of Systematic Reviews

Summary: Evidence suggests that OEND programs are effective for reducing opioid-related mortality, with long-term knowledge improvement, improved attitudes towards naloxone, and sufficient training for overdose management provided to participants. However, additional high-quality research is needed to optimize program delivery. Community-based OEND programs should be widely implemented in high-risk populations.
