Recent advances of metal-organic framework-based and derivative materials in the heterogeneous catalytic removal of volatile organic compounds

The advantages and disadvantages of various catalytic technologies in the control of by-products are described based on intermediates analysis. The paper also focuses on the detection techniques of characteristic intermediates in VOCs elimination, and discusses the characterization methods and their usage conditions. Several factors that affect the formation and conversion of intermediates are provided, especially the effects of catalysts surface metal capacity and oxygen species on intermediates. The review is believed to provide a good basis and reference point for the exploration of VOCs catalytic oxidation pathways and the analysis of intermediate products.

Efficient degradation of tetracycline by persulfate activation with Fe, Co and O co-doped g-C3N4: Performance, mechanism and toxicity

Insights into the CeO2 facet-depended performance of propane oxidation over Pt-CeO2 catalysts

Emissions of non-methane hydrocarbons and typical volatile organic compounds from various grate-firing coal furnaces

Stable Black Phosphorus Encapsulation in Porous Mesh-like UiO-66 Promoted Charge Transfer for Photocatalytic Oxidation of Toluene and o-Dichlorobenzene: Performance, Degradation Pathway, and Mechanism

Summary: This study presents a new strategy to enhance the charge transfer from Zr atoms in UiO-66 to black phosphorus (BP) for the photocatalytic degradation of toluene and o-dichlorobenzene. The formation of Zr-P bonds is the key to improve the charge-transfer capability of BP-UiO, which is encapsulated by a hydrophilic porous mesh-like UiO-66 layer. BP-UiO shows enhanced visible-light-harvesting ability, charge transport capability, and photocatalytic activity. In situ IR and GC-MS techniques are used to investigate the degradation pathways of contaminants.

NaCl-Templated Ultrathin 2D-Yttria Nanosheets Supported Pt Nanoparticles for Enhancing CO Oxidation Reaction

The promoting effect of alkali metal and H2O on Mn-MOF derivatives for toluene oxidation: A combined experimental and theoretical investigation

Summary: In this work, alkali metal-doped manganese-based metal-organic framework (Mn-MOF) derivative materials were obtained and their catalytic activities in toluene oxidation were studied. The results showed that the Na-doped Mn-MOF derivatives exhibited higher catalytic activity due to their larger specific surface area, lower average manganese valence, and better adsorbed oxygen mobility. Furthermore, the addition of alkali metal and the presence of water in the reaction atmosphere promoted the mineralization of toluene.

Boosting toluene oxidation by the regulation of Pd species on UiO-66: Synergistic effect of Pd species

Mn-incorporated Co3O4 bifunctional electrocatalysts for zinc-air battery application: An experimental and DFT study

Chlorine-Coordinated Pd Single Atom Enhanced the Chlorine Resistance for Volatile Organic Compound Degradation: Mechanism Study

Universitetet i Oslo-67 (UiO-67)/graphite oxide composites with high capacities of toluene: Synthesis strategy and adsorption mechanism insight

Summary: In this paper, a solvothermal synthesis method was proposed for the preparation of UiO-67/GO hybrid nanocomposites. The composites exhibited excellent adsorption capacity for toluene, with the optimal synthesis condition resulting in a maximum adsorption capacity of 876 mg g(-1) for 67/GO-0.5%. The improved adsorption performance was attributed to the presence of graphene oxide, which enhanced p-p interaction, promoted defect generation, and provided more adsorption sites. The regeneration performance of the adsorbent was also verified. The adsorption mechanism involved the cooperation of defects, pi-pi interaction, and hydrogen bonding.

Pt-Modulated CuMnOx Nanosheets as Catalysts for Toluene Oxidation
