Comparative insight into effect of hybridizing potassium and hydrogen ions on photocatalytic Reduction/Oxidization behavior of g-C3N4 nanocrystals

Huijuan Jing et al.

Summary: This paper reports a novel hybridization of heterogeneous atoms to regulate the photocatalytic behavior of graphitic carbon nitride by controlling its energy band structure. The results show that the K+-modified g-C3N4 has a significantly higher hydrogen evolution reaction rate, while the H+-modified g-C3N4 exhibits better gaseous acetaldehyde degradation. This difference in photocatalytic performance is attributed to the effects of stronger reducibility for KCN and higher oxidizability for HCN, due to the efficient regulation in their energy band structures.

Design of highly stable MgO promoted Cu/ZnO catalyst for clean methanol production through selective hydrogenation of CO2

Sachin Kumar Sharma et al.

Summary: The synergistic interaction between small Cu particles and MgO/ZnO-supported catalysts synthesized by the hydrothermal method results in a high methanol production rate. The high activity of the catalyst may be attributed to the high Cu dispersion and large Cu surface area. The MgO support plays a promoting role in CO2 adsorption, leading to a preference for the selective CO2 hydrogenation pathway.
