Research on the anti-aging mechanism of SBS-modified asphalt compounded with multidimensional nanomaterials based on atomic force microscopy

Dongmei Zhang et al.

Summary: The study focused on improving the aging performance of SBS-modified asphalt using multidimensional nanomaterials. Adding OEVMT/TiO2 or OMMT/TiO2 increased the high-temperature performance of asphalt and enhanced its resistance to oxidation and ultraviolet aging.

Chemical characteristics analyze of SBS-modified bitumen containing composite nanomaterials after aging by FTIR and GPC

Dongmei Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, composite nanomaterials were prepared by compounding nanometer-titania with organically expanded vermiculite and organic montmorillonite to improve the aging resistance of SBS-modified bitumen. The results showed that these materials enhanced the anti-deformation ability of the bitumen, reduced the changes in chemical indices during aging, and effectively inhibited the growth rate of low molecular weight species.

Research on the field aging gradient behavior of SBS-modified bitumen at different depths of pavement by rheological and microscopic characterization

Dongmei Zhang et al.

Summary: The study investigated the aging behavior of SBS-modified bitumen with different depth after exposure in the field. Results showed that there was no aging gradient behavior in the depth direction during the construction aging stage, but a distinct gradient behavior emerged after 5 years of field aging, suggesting that only the milling surface should be considered for restoration of SBS modified bitumen pavement after 5 years of field aging.
