Length One-pot synthesis of Mo2C&MoS2 loaded on N/S co-doped carbon materials as the electrocatalyts for hydrogen evolution reaction

Qichang Wang et al.

Summary: Biomass can be used as a potential precursor to prepare functional carbon materials, with the organic components containing nitrogen and sulfur adjusting the electronic properties of the carbon material. In this study, Mo2C and MoS2 nanoparticles were uniformly loaded on N/S-co-doped carbon sheets via direct pyrolysis of ginkgo leaves with ammonium molybdate tetrahydrate. The resulting materials exhibited enhanced electronic transfer and larger electrochemical active areas, leading to smaller overpotential and Tafel slope values.

Hydrogen production and mechanism from water splitting by metal-free organic polymers PVDF/PVDF-HFP under drive by vibrational energy

Limin Song et al.

Summary: The hydrogen producing performances of metal-free organic polymers PVDF and PVDF-HFP from water splitting were investigated. It was found that under ultrasonic vibration, the 200-min hydrogen yields of PVDF and PVDF-HFP reached 355.10 and 724.64 mu mol/g respectively. PVDF-HFP showed better piezoelectric catalytic performance due to its higher content of beta phase. Both PVDF and PVDF-HFP exhibited high hydrogen producing stability, making them highly potential in clean energy production and wastewater treatment.
