Response surface methodology optimization and HPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS analysis on ultrasonic-assisted extraction of phenolic compounds from okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) and their antioxidant activity

Xinyu Wang et al.

Summary: In this study, the maximum extracted efficiency of okra polyphenols was determined using response surface methodology, and 27 compounds were identified in okra polyphenols using HPLC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS. Additionally, okra polyphenols exhibited strong antioxidant activity and alleviated oxidative damage.

Seasonal Qualitative Variations of Phenolic Content in the Stem Bark of Prunus persica var. nucipersica - Implication for the Use of the Bark as a Source of Bioactive Compounds

Monika Beszterda et al.

Summary: The seasonal variations of phenolic compounds in the stem bark of Prunus persica var. nucipersica were investigated, and it was found that the content of different compounds varied during different periods of the year. May-August is the appropriate harvest period for rutin, while September-April is suitable for flavanone 5-O-glycosides.

Electrospray ionisation mass spectrometric behaviour of flavonoid 5-O-glucosides and their positional isomers detected in the extracts from the bark of Prunus cerasus L. and Prunus avium L.

Monika Beszterda et al.

Summary: This study aimed to analyze the ESI-MS behavior of flavonoid 5-O-glucosides in cherry tree bark, compare it with their positional isomers, and utilize the susceptibility to hydrolysis for identification. The results showed that under acid conditions, flavonoid 5-O-glycosides were completely hydrolyzed, giving distinctive ions in positive and negative ion modes for effective differentiation from their positional isomers.
