Closest targets in the slacks-based measure of efficiency for production units with multi-period data

Chiang Kao

Summary: This study proposes a set of models to measure the maximum SBM efficiency for DMUs with multi-period data, finding that when non-Archimedean number is not effective, the maximum SBM efficiency is greater than or equal to radial efficiency, which is more reliable and can detect the factors and years causing unsatisfactory performance.

A regret cross-efficiency ranking method considering consensus consistency

Dun Liu et al.

Summary: Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a powerful method for evaluating the performance of decision making units (DMUs). Traditional DEA models have limitations such as overestimation and incomplete ranking. The cross-efficiency (CE) evaluation addresses these limitations, but previous studies have overlooked the psychological factors of decision-makers. This paper proposes a novel regret cross-efficiency aggregation (RCEA) method based on regret theory, which considers the psychological preference of decision-makers. The proposed model is validated by evaluating the efficiency of scientific research activities in 13 universities in China.

Slacks-based measures of efficiency and super-efficiency in presence of nonpositive data

Hsuan-Shih Lee

Summary: This paper investigates the handling of zero and negative data in SBM and Super-SBM models, proposing Nonpositive SBM and Nonpositive Super-SBM models. A two-stage approach is suggested to address the issue of Pareto efficiency in Nonpositive Super-SBM model.

Summary: The cross-efficiency (CE) evaluation method was introduced to improve the discriminatory power of DEA and resolve the non-uniqueness of CE scores. By utilizing the MRA and LRA models, proposed a general secondary goal model using multi-objective programming to achieve more realistic CE evaluations with better discriminatory power.

Summary: This paper introduces a new SBM-NDEA model and applies it to evaluate Chinese commercial banks. The analysis shows that the overall inefficiency is mainly caused by the profit generating process. The results also suggest adjustments of variables for inefficient banks in the network process.
