Liposomes are Poorly Absorbed via Lung Lymph After Inhaled Administration in Sheep

Jibriil P. Ibrahim et al.

Summary: Enhancing the delivery of therapeutic agents to the lung lymph can significantly improve the treatment and prevention of lung-related illnesses. However, the access of liposomes, a commonly used carrier, to the lung lymphatics after inhalation is limited. Alternative approaches need to be identified to maximize the delivery of drugs to the lung lymph.

Gelatin Stabilizes Nebulized Proteins in Pulmonary Drug Delivery against COVID-19

Chunlin Li et al.

Summary: Delivering medication to the lungs via nebulization is an effective treatment for respiratory diseases. Researchers have developed a high-affinity protein that can inhibit SARS-CoV-2 infection. By using commercial nebulizers and gelatin modification, the stability and activity of the proteins can be enhanced. Hamster experiments have confirmed the feasibility of this method for pulmonary drug delivery.
