Measuring the order parameter of vertically aligned nanorod assemblies

Jeongmo Kim et al.

Summary: A novel approach utilizing the photoluminescence behavior of nanorods is proposed for detailed analysis of assembly structures and rapid in situ determination of the homeotropic order parameter under external electric field control. This new method, which is not affected by polarization and can be performed using a conventional fluorescence microscopy setup, provides a more in-depth examination of various assembled nanostructures and the collective dynamics of their building blocks.
