Undivided electrochemical cells are used to economically prepare sulphur-containing naphthoquinones through electrochemical sulphenylation of quinoidal compounds. This environmentally friendly and efficient protocol eliminates the need for chemical oxidants and enables the synthesis of desired molecules. It offers an efficient and versatile method for synthesizing cytotoxic quinones against cancer cell lines.
