Incidence and Reasons for Intrastromal Corneal Ring Segment Explantation

Francesco D'Oria et al.

Summary: The study reviewed consecutive cases of intrastromal corneal ring segments explanted in the last 10 years to determine the main causes and define the incidence rate. Functional failure, particularly refractive failure, was found to be the main reason for explantation followed by anatomic failure, with spontaneous extrusion being a common issue in advanced cases of keratoconus.

Surgery for glaucoma in modern corneal graft procedures

Ahmed A. Abdelghany et al.

Summary: Glaucoma is a common cause of vision loss after corneal transplantation and requires control before surgery. Appropriate follow-up and management can help patients with postoperative increase in intraocular pressure. Adequate management of glaucoma can prevent irreversible damage to the eyes and increase graft survival.

Visual and Refractive Outcomes of Toric Implantable Collamer Lens Implantation in Stable Keratoconus After Combined Topography-Guided PRK and CXL

Hani F. Sakla et al.

Summary: The study demonstrated that toric implantable Collamer lens implantation in patients with keratoconus resulted in significant improvement in visual and refractive outcomes at 12 months postoperatively, indicating a safe and effective correction for myopia and myopic astigmatism.
