Low Exposure to Direct Oral Anticoagulants Is Associated with Ischemic Stroke and Its Severity

Timolaos Rizos et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the association between DOAC exposure and plasma concentration at the time of TIA and ischemic strokes and their likelihood of occurrence. The results suggest that low DOAC exposure is strongly associated with ischemic stroke and its severity.

Safety and efficacy of endovascular thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke treated with anticoagulants: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Jia-Hung Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, the safety and efficacy of endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients receiving oral anticoagulants (OACs) were examined. The results showed that compared to direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs), the use of vitamin K antagonists (VKAs) was associated with a higher risk of symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) and mortality after EVT.
