Kaiyue Song et al.

Summary: A new type of ternary memorizer, based on a facile melamine-cyanuric acid hydrogen-bonded organic frame-work, has been successfully fabricated. The ternary resistive switching behavior can be attributed to the filled traps in the 2D layer and the carriers flowing in the 3D network. The memorizer exhibits good memory performance, high yield, and superior thermal stability and irradiative tolerance.

Simultaneously elevating the resistive switching level and ambient-air- stability of 3D perovskite (TAZ-H)PbBr3-based memory device by encapsulating into polyvinylpyrrolidone

Kaiyue Song et al.

Summary: The study investigates the enhancement of resistive switching level and ambient-air-stability of perovskite-based memorizers, which will facilitate its commercialization. A new 3D perovskite (TAZ-H) PbBr3 was fabricated as FTO/(TAZ-H)PbBr3/Ag device, exhibiting binary memory performance with a high temperature tolerance. After encapsulation with PVP, the (TAZ-H)PbBr3@PVP composite-based device demonstrates ternary resistive switching behavior with a significant ON2/ON1/OFF ratio and good ambient-air stability. The ternary resistive switching mechanism involves carrier transport and rearrangement in 3D channels. The implementation of ternary perovskite-based memorizers with good ambient-air-stability is significant for high-density memory in harsh environments.

Switching the memory behaviour from binary to ternary by triggering S62- relaxation in polysulfide-bearing zinc-organic complex molecular memories

Pan-Ke Zhou et al.

Summary: The use of crystalline metal-organic complexes with definite structures as multilevel memories is significant for designing the next generation of memories. In this study, different Zn-polysulfide complexes were fabricated as memory devices, showing either bipolar binary memory performances or non-volatile ternary memory performances. The deep structure-property correlation in this work provides a new strategy for implementing multilevel memory by triggering polysulfide relaxation based on the conjugated degree regulation of organic ligands.

Assemblies of Increasingly Large Ln-Containing Polyoxoniobates and Intermolecular Aggregation-Disaggregation Interconversions

Rong-Da Lai et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the first oxalate-assisted lanthanide incorporation strategy for creating rare high-nuclearity Ln-containing polyoxoniobates. A series of high-nuclearity Ln-containing polyoxoniobates have been synthesized, showing an increasingly large structure evolution. Among them, Dy14Nb192 presents the largest heterometallic polyoxoniobate and also the polyoxoniobate with the greatest number of Ln ions reported thus far. Interestingly, both giant Dy14Nb192 and Dy10Nb190 molecules can further undergo single-crystal to single-crystal intermolecular aggregations, forming infinite chains. These new species largely enrich the Ln-containing polyoxoniobate family and offer rare examples for studying structural transformations between giant molecular aggregates and infinitely extended structures at the atomic level.

Summary: The design of functional composites with desired film crystallinity and definite switching mechanism is crucial for achieving high-performance multilevel memorizers. In this study, three aggregation-induced emission (AIE) molecules were synthesized and embedded into polybenzimidazole (PBI) to prepare AIE@PBI composites. These composites were further fabricated into well-defined crystalline devices, demonstrating clear ternary memory performances. The results showed that increasing the Azo groups on tetraphenylethylene (TPE) improved the ternary memory performance and achieved high-temperature tolerance.
