Experimental investigation on thermal performance of solar water heater equipped with Serpentine fin core heat exchanger

Ekram Hadi Al-Askaree et al.

Summary: We have designed and developed a cost-effective solar water heater that operates solely on solar power and has good thermal efficiency. The solar heater complex uses copper tubes and aluminum fins with dark black paint for the heat exchangers. The electronic control system regulates the water flow rate into the heat exchanger pipes, achieving a flow rate of 0.5 L per minute. The solar heater has demonstrated a peak thermal efficiency of 58% at 2:45 pm on December 23 and can reach a maximum water temperature of 64 degrees C, making it a reliable and environmentally friendly alternative to electricity and oil/gas heaters.
