Simulation and impact analysis of behavioral and socioeconomic dimensions of energy consumption

Ali Ghofrani et al.

Summary: This study investigates residential energy consumption patterns in regions with high proportions of migrant communities. It evaluates the human-building interactions and energy behaviors among local and migrant communities and uses machine learning approaches to analyze survey data and identify critical factors that influence human-building interactions and distinguish between the energy behaviors of locals and migrants. The study also conducts simulation analysis to demonstrate how improvements in human-building interaction can lead to energy-saving opportunities. The findings highlight the socioeconomic and behavioral factors that contribute to residential energy consumption and emphasize the importance of the human factor in regions with imbalanced demographics and societies in transition.
